Knotted Mesh Crochet Bag Pattern
The Knotted Mesh Crochet Bag is one rectangle, one knot, and that is the whole bag. You work a single flat panel with solid double-crochet bands at each end and an airy mesh in the middle, then block it, tie one knot right at the center, fold it in half, and seam up the sides.
The knot becomes the handle, the mesh gathers around it, and the two solid bands meet at the bottom, giving you a sturdy base that holds its shape even when the bag is full. There is no working in the round and no counting increases. The panel is worked flat and turned at the end of every row, and once you are past the bottom band, the mesh is a simple two-row repeat.
Three sizes. The Small is a gift bag or a project pouch. The Medium slips over your wrist for errands. The Large is the full-size market and beach bag. Size is easily adjustable as well. Chain any odd number of stitches and work an odd number of rows so there is a true center row to tie the knot.
