Reed Crossover Stitch Crochet Bookmark
The Reed Crochet Bookmark is a quick, satisfying make that looks far more detailed than it is to stitch. The Reed Crossover Stitch creates a woven, crosshatch texture across the surface — and once you get into the two-row repeat, it moves fast. This is the kind of project you start between bigger makes and finish before you realize you’ve begun.
The bookmark is worked flat from the bottom up in a single size: 7 by 1.5 inches. It’s completely adjustable — add a few rows for a longer bookmark, trim some for a shorter one, or tweak the starting chain to change the width. Multiples of 3 keep things flexible. Finish it off with an optional tassel at the top, and it goes from a simple strip to something that actually looks intentional. Fully reversible, too, which is a nice bonus.
One skein of Willow Yarns Farmhouse Cotton goes a very long way here — just 18 yards per bookmark (22 yards with the tassel). That makes this a great scraps project, a quick gift, or a batch make in seasonal colors. The cotton construction gives it that crisp, polished look and makes it durable enough for daily use inside your favorite book.
